17 Years Later, an Enthusiast Ports the Console Exclusive Wet, Published by Bethesda Softworks, to PC

News

The developers never released an official PC version, but now there's another way to play.

Recently, players remembered the cinematic action game Wet again. The game was released in 2009 and was only available on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles. Now everything has changed: the project has made its way to PC, but not thanks to publisher Bethesda Softworks.

A developer under the nickname Supermedo presented a homemade port of the Wet version for the Xbox 360 console.

Among the features of the unofficial PC version of Wet:

  • Native support for Windows 10, 11 (64-bit)
  • Keyboard and mouse support (WASD controls)
  • Game settings available (by pressing F3 or in the launcher menu)

There are different graphics presets: Quality is set by default — 2x rendering resolution increase, FXAA Extreme (anti-aliasing), 16x anisotropic filtering, and higher clarity.

The Ultra preset is designed for weaker systems: with 3x scaling relative to the base 1080p; can be further customized manually.

Supermedo published the source code of the "wet-recomp" project in open access on GitHub. This is an early version and work is ongoing. The archive does not include copyrighted game files, meaning players need to provide an image. Version 0.1.0 is currently available.

There is also the "WetRecomp" project by nikolaygorb. According to him, the port will work on Windows/Linux x86-64 operating systems.
