Arc Raiders to Get Official PvE Mode - Testing in October
Developers heard the community's request. Tester feedback will help determine the future of the PvE mode.
Since the release of Arc Raiders, some users have been calling on developers to create a separate PvE mode. Time passed, but Embark Studios offered nothing of the sort.
However, a Chinese version of the game appeared, where fans' dreams were realized — local gamers were offered a PvE mode. Western gamers looked enviously at this 'regional feature'. Their complaints were heard — Arc Raiders developers recently announced testing of a new 'PvE matchmaking toggle' feature:
The test will run from October 13 to October 20, 2026, and will give you the option to choose between classic PvPvE in ARC Raiders or a PvE mode focused on cooperative play with other raiders against the threat from [robots].

In a recent blog, the developers explained that Arc Raiders was originally conceived as a cooperative PvE game with loot collection mechanics:
While the concept looked promising, we encountered significant difficulties and ultimately decided to reboot the game and create an intense extraction shooter adventure with PvPvE elements.
According to Embark Studios statistics, 37% of players prefer 'friendly co-op' (and the proportion of such people 'has been steadily increasing since release'). 27% have 'mixed' preferences, and 34% of players are exclusively PvP-oriented (this group has remained stable since release).
They also noted that over 70% of 'friendly' players and even 40% of PvP players want to encounter hostile players less often, and 51% of the surveyed audience expressed interest in a separate PvE mode.
In the upcoming PvE mode, players will not be able to inflict damage on other people — the focus will be on confronting ARC.
