Kotobukiya has opened pre-orders for a rather unusual collectible item. Fans of the "genius" game designer Hideo Kojima can now purchase a Ludens figure for 11,000 Japanese Yen (5916 Rubles).
This refers to the mascot and logo of Kojima Productions studio. Ludens wears an "extra-vehicular creative activity suit" and holds a flag with the Kojima Productions logo, which is based on Ludens' own image. The character is known from a video titled "Kojima Productions logo movie," where he, in a spacesuit-armor, walks across the lunar surface and plants the studio's flag with his own image.
It is worth noting that, unlike classic pre-assembled figures, this new product needs to be assembled independently from parts on sprues. The main advantage is assembly without glue (using snap-fit technology) and the fact that the parts are already molded in the correct colors, so painting them is not necessary.
The kit includes four sets of hand parts, decals with warning signs for various parts of the model and the Kojima Productions logo, as well as two types of eye parts for the mask: a part with a pre-applied pattern and an unpainted part with embossed eyes.
The flag is presented in two variants: transparent green and black. The model is equipped with several 3mm connection points, making it compatible with existing weapons and armor from the M.S.G, Frame Arms, and Frame Arms Girl series.
The figure, made of polystyrene, ABS plastic, and polyvinyl chloride, is 19 cm tall. Its release is expected in March 2027.
