Stardew Valley creator teases new features for update 1.7 - a mysterious post appeared

Now players are trying to figure out what the developer said.

Currently, Eric Barone (Eric «ConcernedApe» Barone) is preparing update 1.7 for Stardew Valley. Recently, the developer intrigued fans with a new post.

ConcernedApe wrote: «two paths will be extended, three will become four, the mermaid's fruit will go free».

Some fans decided to approach this from a different angle – not to take it literally, but to try and find a hidden meaning in these phrases. For example, user IamAhuman15 believes that the part of the message «two paths will be extended» means an update for Clint and Sandy.

«three will become four», according to IamAhuman15, means that a fourth child might appear in the town (Jas, Vincent, and Leo are already there).

IamAhuman15 doesn't have any ideas yet regarding the part about «the mermaid's fruit will go free». However, some other participants in the discussion suggested that some kind of update for children might be in the works. The developer himself has not yet confirmed the fan theories.

ConcernedApe is not only supporting Stardew Valley but also working on his new project, Haunted Chocolatier. This game does not yet have a specific release date or window – the developer previously made it clear that he would not sacrifice quality for a faster release.
