Wardogs Game Director Speaks Out Again: Developers Won't Be Able to Fix Game Balance Even by the Start of Season Two, Says Joe Brammer

Usually, studios quietly adjust balance by reading player comments on social media and Discord.

The developers of the tactical shooter Wardogs continue to search for optimal game balance, however, according to studio head Joe Brammer, this process will take significantly longer than one season. Moreover, the team does not expect to fully resolve balance issues even by the start of the second season.

The reason for Brammer's new comment was a player's post, who noted that the early stage of Wardogs' progression is more enjoyable due to the absence of well-equipped characters with level four armor. The player also stated that they are looking forward to the upcoming progress reset. Brammer agreed with the observation and noted that the developers deliberately made the first season short, as they understand the need for further balance adjustments.

At the same time, Brammer believes that the team's main mistake was not directly in the balance problems. According to him, balancing any game is initially based on assumptions and is gradually corrected as real statistics and player experience emerge. Therefore, as the head of Wardogs emphasized, the developers “won't even be able to get everything right by season two”.

Instead, he sees the main flaw in the server system. Brammer called the lack of full support for community servers a mistake, as well as the fact that the developers did not launch official servers with infantry battles and level restrictions.
