Romance Canceled: First Teaser for "The Otome Heroine's Fight for Survival" Released
The adaptation of Harunohi Biyori's dark fantasy will be released in 2027.
FuRyu has unveiled the first teaser and poster for the anime "The Otome Heroine's Fight for Survival". The series is based on the light novel of the same name by Harunohi Biyori with illustrations by Yu Hitaki, and its manga adaptation with art by Kobato Wakasa.
The story follows Alicia, who loses her parents early after a monster attack and ends up in an orphanage where she faces cruel treatment. Later, the girl learns that she lives in the world of an otome game, and her fate — from her parents' death to subsequent suffering — is predetermined by the plot. Alicia is not ready to accept her assigned role, so she takes the name Aria and becomes an adventurer, deciding to determine her own destiny.
Studio Clutch and Animation Studio Seven are jointly working on the series. Noriyoshi Sasaki is the director, Toko Machida is responsible for the series composition, and Hiroyuki Miseki is in charge of character design. Lead actress Fuka Izumi admitted that Aria's reserved nature was a particular acting challenge for her:
"For me, playing a character who doesn't openly express her emotions is a real challenge."
The premiere will take place in July 2027; the exact date will be announced later.
