Star Trek: Starfleet Academy to Return in March 2027 - Many New Shots Revealed
The second season will be the last for the series.
The second and final season of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy will premiere on Paramount+ in March 2027. This was announced at New York Comic-Con, where the first footage of the continuation was also shown and new cast members were revealed.
Bill Nighy, known for his role as Davy Jones in Pirates of the Caribbean, has joined the series. He will play Nick Ake, the father of Captain and head of the academy Nala Ake (Holly Hunter), with whom she has had a strained relationship for a long time. Rosemary DeWitt, who starred in The Staircase, will play Laita Sadal, Tarima's mother and the First Lady of Betazed.
In the new episodes, cadets will begin their second year of training aboard the USS Athena. They will face rivalry, difficult diplomatic negotiations, and an academic tournament. But the appearance of a mysterious new cadet will pose questions to the heroes, the consequences of which will extend far beyond their studies.
The final season will consist of ten episodes. Panel attendees were also shown an exclusive clip of the continuation, but it has not yet been released publicly. The exact premiere date has not yet been announced.
