DC hasn't buried "Swamp Thing": studio head reminded of the next horror after "Clayface"
The horror film from the director of "Logan" is still in development.
DC Studios continues to work on the Swamp Thing film. This was stated by co-chairman of the studio Peter Safran in an interview with Deadline at the premiere of "Clayface". According to him, the script is still being written, and the production timeline largely depends on the director's availability:
"We are working on it. Absolutely. The script is being written right now. And you know, all of this takes time. Especially when a director has already joined the project - you still have to wait until he has free time in his schedule."
James Mangold, known for "Logan" and "Ford v Ferrari", is the writer and director of "Swamp Thing". He is currently busy with the film "High Side" about motorcycle racing starring Timothée Chalamet.
"Swamp Thing" was announced back in January 2023 along with other projects from the first wave of the new DC cinematic universe, which is being created by James Gunn and Peter Safran. However, since then, the creators have not announced the cast, the start date of filming, or the premiere date.
