“Made in Abyss: The Mystery of Awakening” will hit Russian movie theaters in December — trailer with Russian dub released

The new feature film will continue the events of the anime’s second season.

The feature anime “Made in Abyss: The Mystery of Awakening” will hit Russian movie theaters on December 10. This was announced by the film company Pioneer, which will release the picture jointly with DEEP. Along with the premiere date, viewers were treated to a trailer featuring a Russian dub by Amber studio.

The film will pick up the events of the second season, “The Golden City of the Scorching Sun”. Riko, Reg, and Nanachi, along with Faputa, will set out for the seventh layer of the Abyss. Once their journey began with the search for Riko’s mother and Reg’s lost memories, but now the heroes have descended so deep that there is no way back to the surface.

Studio Kinema Citrus is once again responsible for the production. Masayuki Kojima retained the director’s chair, having worked on both seasons and the franchise’s previous films. The script was prepared by Hideyuki Kurata, while character designs were handled by Yuka Kuroda and Kazuchika Kise.

The Japanese premiere of “The Mystery of Awakening” took place on October 23. On the same day, the creators announced the next feature film, but its title and release date have not yet been revealed.
