During the Battlefield 6 beta test, many players, especially fans of the classic Battlefield series, expressed dissatisfaction with the too fast and arcade-like movement mechanics, reminiscent of the Call of Duty style. In particular, the excessive use of "bunny hopping" (jumping) and sliding allowed some players to almost fly over the map.
In response to criticism, the developers decided to significantly weaken movement exploits. According to the official blog, the changes include:
- Increased penalty for spam jumping: now the height of jumps will decrease with multiple consecutive jumps
- Increased inaccuracy when shooting while moving: shooting while jumping or sliding will become less accurate in order to make these actions more situational, and not the main way of fighting
- Reduced sliding momentum: the transition from sliding to jumping will be less dynamic, which will slow down the overall pace of movement
