Gamers are actively blaming Unreal Engine 5 for game issues, but some see the situation differently.
New games on Unreal Engine 5 often experience various technical issues, such as stuttering. As a result, UE5 has gained a reputation as not the best engine.
However, not everyone shares this view. Some believe that the game creators are to blame, not the engine — according to indie developer Aherys from Deep Worlds:
«Many games released or preparing for release on Unreal Engine 5 do not have performance issues (e.g., The Finals, Marvel Rivals, Clair Obscur, Fortnite, Arc Raider...).»
All controversial UE5 features are optional.
Poor performance is mainly the result of poor development, not engine shortcomings (and Epic is doing a tremendous job to provide excellent optimization/documentation on many aspects).
Personally, I'm very tired of gaming bloggers who spread misinformation (or is it provocation?) to get clicks in [blog].»
