Recently, one of the developers noticed changes on GitHub. The new branch of the modern Unreal Engine 5 is expected to be released soon.
TheRedPixel pointed out that the branch for UE 5.7 is already available on GitHub, while the main branch has been updated to 5.8. In this regard, it is assumed that the release of 5.8 may also take place quite soon.
Version UE 5.7 should include the technology that CD Projekt RED showed. Earlier during the presentation of The Witcher 4, the Epic Games team noted Nanite Foliage technology, which "provides a fast and memory-efficient way to achieve great density and realism of foliage" — it was then reported that its release was planned in UE 5.7.
