The function is not intended for entertainment, but for work.
Battlefield 6 will traditionally feature a destruction system. As it turned out, the developers have a kind of red button that blows up everything on the map.
In an interview with Kotaku, design director Shashank Uchil explained that this explosive function helps developers in testing:
«So... imagine a map in three different states. The map is initially in an \"ideal state,\" or something like that, as it should be at the beginning. And then, as the map evolves, it becomes more and more destroyed. And by the end, if everyone uses rocket launchers or C4, you will reach the peak of destruction. The map in the game should be good in all three cases: in the ideal state, intermediate and final».
Thanks to the big bang, developers have the opportunity to assess the "worst case scenario" and see if there are enough shelters, whether to add assets to make it more interesting to play in the final stage.
