Electronic Arts is preparing to release EA Sports FC 26 in late September, and initial comparisons reveal a noticeable improvement in graphics on the Nintendo Switch 2.
The version for the new console not only far surpasses the original Switch but also stands out as one of the most impressive generational upgrades in sports games in recent years.
The differences are striking. On Switch 2, almost all graphics settings have been reworked. Improvements are visible in player models, physics, lighting, animation quality, textures, and visual effects. The game's presentation is now much closer to PS5 and Xbox Series, creating a more immersive experience. At the same time, the original version on Switch looks outdated, with simplified details and limited physics.
Despite the graphical leap, performance remains a compromise. The Switch 2 version is limited to 30 frames per second, just like the original. For a series where quick reactions and smoothness are important, this is a significant drawback, especially compared to the 60 fps on PS5 and Xbox Series in both modes.
Switch 2 occupies an intermediate position: it surpasses PS4 in lighting and Hypermotion technology support but falls behind PS5 in hair rendering, texture detail, and some physics calculations.
EA Sports FC 26 will be released on September 26, 2025, for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and Switch 2.
