Games of this type are especially popular in the Asian region. Next year, publisher 4Divinity is going to release Island of Hearts on Steam; production is handled by the "media empire" Titan Digital Media.
Island of Hearts stars the very popular model ms_puiyi (Siew Pui Yi / 24 million followers), as well as nahyunworld (Nahyun Kim / 993k followers).
Keith Liu, Deputy General Manager of GCL (the parent company of publisher 4Divinity), noted that the romantic FMV project market grew sharply in 2025, especially in China and South Korea.
He partly attributes this to the success of "micro-dramas" — these series, with short episodes usually lasting a couple of minutes, are hugely popular in the Asian region, especially in China.
In similar FMV games, users have the opportunity to influence the story by making various decisions.
