The indie scene is experiencing a real surge this year — games that no one bet on before are gaining popularity. After the hits Peak and Megabonk, a new trend has emerged: simple, cheap and unusual projects that captivate hundreds of thousands of players.
The next such phenomenon may be Cut the Grass from the Polish studio Baked Games, known for Prison Simulator, Neuroshima Hex and the upcoming Alaska Gold Fever.
The game combines elements of tower defense and network cooperative. Players search for treasures hidden in thick grass, cutting it layer by layer to reveal the secrets of locations. The atmosphere is light and humorous, and visually the project resembles Peak and other small indie games.
A demo version is already available on Steam, and along with it a fresh trailer has been released demonstrating the gameplay. Judging by the reaction of the players, Cut the Grass has every chance to become the next viral hit.
