Recently, players have been unhappy with the technical state of the project.
The developers of Helldivers 2 are listening to community feedback about optimization issues and more. Arrowhead Game Studios is considering conducting closed beta testing to eliminate potential errors before the full release of an update.
Game director of Helldivers 2, Mikael Eriksson, admitted that many players are experiencing crashes:
The reason is that although we do extensive internal testing and try to track down all such cases, sometimes [bugs] can slip through [...] even one crash or one similar problem... can be enough to sharply increase the frequency of crashes for many different players.
The developer explained that this is happening because the "\"extensive testing\" simply does not match the scale of the full version of the game with all players." That's why they are considering the option of a closed beta test — ordinary players could be involved in it.
If such a decision is made, "up to a thousand players or more" will be admitted. According to Eriksson, this number will be enough to track down failures.
