Polish team Interstudio has showcased new material for The Vernyhorn. This is a cinematic third-person combat RPG with an open world, inspired by Baldur’s Gate, The Witcher, and Icewind Dale.
The developers of The Vernyhorn emphasize story, atmosphere, and emotions, rather than a huge map. Instead of hundreds of markers, there are interesting locations, well-thought-out dialogues, and signature humor.
The narrative focuses on guilt, faith, and survival. The hero delves into his own past, and the RPG gameplay provides choices and showcases conflicts through dialogues.
The world lives at its own pace. Forests, swamps, and mountains are created using 3D scans of real places, while buildings and tools were taken from Polish historical locations.
Sword fights were recorded through motion capture of professional fencers. Each sortie requires preparation: it is necessary to gather food, rest, and choose appropriate clothing.
