The new prequel to \"The Hunger Games\" will be released in Russian theaters on the same day as the world premiere.
Lionsgate previously presented the first teaser for \"The Hunger Games: Dawn of the Reaping,\" and now the distributor \"Atmosphere Cinema\" has released the official trailer with Russian voiceover.
The new installment of the franchise takes viewers back twenty-four years, to the events preceding the original trilogy. The story centers on the early years of Haymitch Abernathy, the future mentor of Katniss Everdeen. In the prequel, he is played by Joseph Zada, while in the original films, the role was played by Woody Harrelson.
The plot unfolds during the Second Quarter Quell, the юбилейных fiftieth Hunger Games, where four tributes are sent to the arena from each district.
Francis Lawrence, who has been working on the franchise since the second film of the original trilogy, \"Catching Fire,\" is once again directing \"Dawn of the Reaping.\" The screenplay is based on Suzanne Collins' novel of the same name, which was released in Russia in the spring of 2025. In addition to Joseph Zada, the cast includes Whitney Peak, Ralph Fiennes, Kieran Culkin, Jesse Plemons, Maya Hawke, Elle Fanning, and Mckenna Grace.
