Sometimes actors have to do things they don't understand just to please fans.
With only days left until the premiere of «Five Nights at Freddy's 2», lead actor Josh Hutcherson shared details about the filming of the sequel. The actor, known for «The Hunger Games», returns to the role of security guard Mike Schmidt, who will face the ожившими murderous animatronics from Freddy Fazbear's pizzeria.
Hutcherson admitted that when he agreed to participate, he did not imagine the scale of the popularity of the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise and the influence of its fan community. According to him, even now he does not fully understand all the «rules», but tries to follow them in order to please fans.
«The main goal is to create something that FNAF fans will be delighted with. Sometimes I don't understand why my character has to do what is written in the script - it's crazy. But they explain to me that “it was like that in the game,” and I agree».
He also noted the difficulty of working with animatronics created by Jim Henson Creature Shop. In the second film, there were noticeably more of them, and it takes the coordination of 12 people at once to control just one Mangle.
«The stuntman needs to turn around and look to the right, and at this moment three people with remotes must synchronously make the eyes blink. You have to do ten takes because the animatronics don't work perfectly. And if suddenly in one take it works perfectly - you also have to play perfectly, because it is he who will get into the film».
The sequel also stars Elizabeth Lail, Piper Rubio, Wayne Knight, Mckenna Grace, Skeet Ulrich and Matthew Lillard, and Megan Fox and Matthew «MatPat» Patrick voiced the animatronics.
The premiere of «Five Nights at Freddy's 2» will take place on December 5, 2025. Information about the Russian release is not yet available.
