Leslie Benzies' studio doesn't give up and continues to improve its creation.
Build A Rocket Boy studio has released the sixth major update for the action game MindsEye. The patch includes over 150 improvements and fixes affecting the combat system, transport, enemy intelligence, visual effects, and overall game performance.
One of the key areas was the reworking of the combat system. The developers increased weapon accuracy, increased the amount of ammunition, updated shooting and hit animations, added evasion and the ability to change the camera position.
More attention is also paid to artificial intelligence. Opponents react faster to threats, fight more competently from cover, and NPCs in locations interact more often with the player. Enemy behavior now depends on the type of mission, and updated animations are designed to make the reaction more natural.
Serious improvements have also been made to vehicles. Flying cars are now controlled using a physical model, collisions have been improved, random route blockages have been eliminated, and long trips can be skipped.
The graphic part has also been updated. The patch fixes texture and lighting errors in cutscenes, adds facial expressions to background characters, and improves lighting, reflections, and weather effects. The developers claim that the physics of bodies has become noticeably more realistic.
More save points and checkpoints have appeared in missions, which reduces the number of repetitions after failure. A number of story episodes received additional hints and updated interface elements. The UI has been improved: weapon and ammo icons have been redesigned, and new designations have appeared in the menu.
Game performance has also increased: the physics of characters and vehicles has been optimized, crashes and freezes have been fixed, and mission loading has been accelerated. According to the studio, MindsEye has become noticeably more stable and responsive.
Simultaneously with the update, Build A Rocket Boy released a demo version of MindsEye in the format of a "starter kit". It includes one story mission and access to the ARCADIA platform with 14 more missions - from battles to races on land and in the air.
Thanks to the updates, the game's rating is gradually improving: recent reviews are already "mostly positive". A complete list of changes can be found at the following link.
