Substructure is a new game from Dubious Design, the creators of the UltraCube mod for Factorio. The studio showed the first trailer at the PC Gaming Show.
The project combines classic automation with a dark twist: a huge purple underworld lurks beneath the familiar conveyors and pixelated base.
The developers call the game a tribute to Factorio. According to the plot, a mysterious object on the edge of the Solar System forces humanity not to escape, but to explore. The player descends into biomes illuminated by an alarming light, where forgotten life forms are hidden.
Substructure combines the construction of production lines and the study of two layers of the world - the surface and the depths. Giant elevators and structures for transporting resources run between them. The game is designed for co-op.
The release date has not yet been announced. The developers promise a release "in the near future."
