A fan-made version of Banjo-Kazooie in Dreams has gone viral, rekindling interest in Rare's arcade platformer.
Discussions around Banjo-Kazooie have flared up again in the community. The reason is the fan project Banjo-Kazooie: Mumbomania, created by enthusiasts Eupholace and 1Collaborator in Dreams for PlayStation 4 and 5. The authors recreated the classic game about a bear and a bird with such love and attention to detail that the project quickly went viral. Even the original studio Rare noted it on social networks, calling it an "incredible work".
However, this gesture of appreciation quickly turned against Rare itself. As soon as the post spread across the network, fans began to massively demand a full-fledged return of Banjo-Kazooie from Xbox and the studio. Comments under Rare's publication turned into an organized flash mob — users leave dozens of messages in the spirit of "Hire this guy", "Why don't you do it yourself?" and "Give Banjo a chance".
The creator of Mumbomania has already stated that he would not mind working on the official version if Xbox or Rare show interest. Meanwhile, Microsoft and the studio itself have not yet commented on the situation.
