Amidst the active development of the "Alien" and "Predator" universes, talks about a possible crossover are multiplying.
The creator of the "Alien: Romulus" series, Noah Hawley, commented on rumors of a possible crossover with "Predator." In the SmartLess podcast, he noted that he does not plan to connect his project with another franchise, although he highly appreciated the success of the films and spin-offs that develop the story of the "hunters."
"No, I don’t think that’s going to happen in the series. Dan Trachtenberg, who directed 'Prey' and 'Badlands,' is doing a great job with that series. He has his own plan, but we don’t coordinate our projects. It’s not in my plans."
Thus, despite the obvious intersections in the setting — for example, the appearance of Weyland-Yutani synthetics in "Badlands" — Hawley does not intend to unite the two universes. He clarified that he maintains contact with Dan Trachtenberg and Fede Alvarez to avoid repeating storylines, and also suggested taking into account the "structure of humanity" in future films, as his series acts as a kind of prequel to the franchise films.
Earlier, Dan Trachtenberg, commenting on the possibility of the film "Alien vs. Predator 3", noted that he does not rule out such a development, but stressed that such a crossover requires time and organic growth of both series, so there is no need to rush it.
FX has already renewed "Alien: Romulus" for a second season, but the release date and other details have not yet been revealed.
