Riot Games has confirmed the release of its first fighting game in the League of Legends universe on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
The free-to-play fighting game 2XKO, featuring League of Legends heroes, was released in early access on PC in October. Now, Riot Games has released a new developer update video announcing that the console version will be released in January 2026.
In parallel with the console release, Riot will launch a competitive program. Throughout 2026, a series of 20 official tournaments will be held: 5 majors and 15 regional "challenger" events. The first major tournament will take place at the end of January at Frosty Faustings, followed by Genesis, Texas Showdown, and Vennality.
Instead of creating a separate league in the style of League of Legends or Valorant, the company has decided to support existing tournament organizers by providing them with financial and promotional assistance.
In addition, Riot will introduce the Frame Perfect themed cosmetic line — skins dedicated to tournament winners. As in League of Legends, a portion of the revenue from their sales will be directed towards the development of the tournament scene, including prize pools and organizational expenses.
