Unofficial test results of AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D have appeared in the Geekbench database. If the data is correct, the chip reaches 5.6 GHz, which is 400 MHz higher than the Ryzen 7 9800X3D.
The model is based on Zen 5 and includes 8 cores, 16 threads, 96 MB L3 with 64 MB 3D V-Cache and TDP 120 W. AMD is introducing the second generation of V-Cache, which should work faster and support overclocking.
The leak contains two Geekbench 6 results. A frequency of 5.6 GHz was recorded on the Colorful CVN B850M Gaming Frozen 14A board. On the Maxsun B850 ITX, the boost reaches 5.3–5.4 GHz. In both cases, DDR5 4800 MT/s was used, which could reduce the final score. The figures look slightly weaker than those of the 9800X3D.
There is an important clarification: in recent months, the Geekbench database has contained a lot of fake data, and the designation of the CPU as "8-Core Processor" does not look like AMD's brand name. Therefore, this is just an interesting leak for now. Real tests should be expected at CES 2026 or immediately after it. Then it will become clear whether the 9850X3D can become a new favorite of gamers.
