New materials from the cancelled Project Draconis, which was being developed by Deviation Games, have appeared online. The video was published by insider Dusk Golem, who clarified that he has over an hour of footage, but he showed about ten minutes.
He noted that he only did this after confirmation that the project was closed — the game will not return in any form. The development was funded by Sony, and it ended after the studio closed in early 2025.
According to Dusk Golem, within the community, the project was codenamed "Ooze". The published footage demonstrates an early build on Unreal Engine 5: the main character in futuristic armor explores locations covered in alien organic structures. It was previously reported that Project Draconis was conceived as a cooperative story-driven action game for PlayStation 5 and PC with a budget of over $50 million.
Deviation Games has confirmed the final closure of development. Dusk Golem noted that the published materials are almost four years old.
