The current memory market crisis has affected all aspects of the PC industry.
ASUS is rumored to be planning to independently solve the problem of memory shortages in the market by entering the DRAM production segment. According to the Persian technology publication Sakhtafzarmag (which previously accurately predicted news about AMD and Intel processors), ASUS plans to massively enter the DRAM market as early as 2026. However, such rumors should be treated with caution.
According to the source, if memory prices and the supply situation do not normalize, ASUS intends to launch DRAM production lines by the end of the second quarter of 2026.
If the rumor is confirmed, ASUS will primarily focus on providing memory for its own products: laptops, desktops, ROG and TUF lines. The company, like other PC manufacturers, is unhappy with the need to overpay for components in a crisis.
Experts predict that the memory shortage will continue until the end of 2027, and possibly until 2028. ASUS, as one of the leaders in the PC market, has the necessary resources to enter this segment, although creating a full-fledged DRAM production facility is an extremely complex and costly task.
