LG is preparing to introduce a new line of UltraGear evo gaming monitors at CES 2026.
In January 2026, the annual international consumer electronics show CES 2026 will take place, where LG plans to showcase a new gaming monitor line with an expanded set of AI functions.
This concerns the UltraGear evo series — the world's first line of gaming displays with 5K AI Upscaling technology. The system allows increasing image clarity directly at the monitor level, without the involvement of a video card. According to LG, built-in algorithms analyze the image in real time to increase resolution, eliminate noise, and optimize colors for a specific scene using the AI Scene Optimization function, as well as improve sound through the AI Sound system.
The initial lineup will include three models:
- 39-inch 39GX950B (OLED) — 5K2K resolution, 21:9 aspect ratio, 1500R curvature, 165 Hz refresh rate in native resolution and up to 330 Hz in WFHD (2560×1080);
- 27-inch 27GM950B (MiniLED) — 5K panel with 2,304 local dimming zones, VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification, 165 Hz refresh rate at 5K and 330 Hz at QHD (2K);
- 52-inch 52G930B (5K2K) — 12:9 aspect ratio, 1000R curvature, up to 240 Hz refresh rate and VESA Display HDR 600 certification.
At the same time, LG clarifies that AI functions, including hardware upscaling, will only be available in 27 and 39-inch models.
LG has not yet disclosed details about the principles of operation of the new technologies, which naturally raises questions. In particular, it remains unclear how hardware upscaling will interact with existing solutions such as DLSS from NVIDIA and FSR from AMD. Additional details will likely be presented by the company during the presentation at CES 2026.
