The long-running project really did manage to survive the major changes at Ubisoft, as insiders had previously reported.

Beyond Good & Evil 2 creative director Fawzi Mesmar confirmed that the project's development has not been affected by Ubisoft's recent layoffs and game cancellations. He stated this in a post on LinkedIn, responding to a wave of questions from fans.

"Thanks to everyone who reached out to me over the past few days regarding the recent news surrounding Ubisoft. Neither I, nor my team, nor our project Beyond Good & Evil 2 were affected in any way by the changes that took place."

At the same time, Mesmar noted that he views the cancellation of other projects and the layoffs affecting his industry colleagues with regret, and he urged people to support developers who have found themselves in a difficult situation.

According to him, the team remains fully focused on creating the game and still intends to bring the project to release. Beyond Good & Evil 2 is part of Ubisoft's so-called fourth "creative house," which brings together projects focused on narrative-driven and immersive worlds, alongside Anno, Might & Magic, Rayman, and Prince of Persia.
