Previously, the creators of the adaptation revealed the main cast, now the characters can be seen in action.
The creators of the live-action adaptation of the Blue Lock manga and anime have presented the first trailer for the film and officially announced the release date. The film will be released in Japanese cinemas on August 7.
The film is based on the manga by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yusuke Nomura and, like the original, tells the story of a radical program to create the "perfect striker" for the Japanese national team. 300 young footballers are gathered at the Blue Lock closed training complex, where they will compete for the only chance to get into the national team.
The film is directed by Yusuke Taki, the script was written by Tetsuo Kamata, and the production is handled by CREDEUS studio, known for the live-action «Kingdom» and «Golden Kamuy». The main cast of 12 characters was presented on the eve of the trailer's publication.
There is no news yet about the release outside of Japan. The adaptation is timed to coincide with the 2026 FIFA World Cup, so it is possible that the international release will not be long in coming.
