007: First Light Will Be Faster Than Hitman - IO Focuses on "Constant Forward Motion"

IO Interactive has long been called a suitable studio for a James Bond game. But the developers immediately made it clear: 007: First Light will not be "Hitman with Bond" and will not be an action game in the spirit of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End. What the game will be like is not entirely clear.

In an interview, game director Andreas Krogh compared the stealth in the new game to the Hitman series:

Hitman was a game where we looked at stealth as a design puzzle. We're taking that same type of stealth into Bond. But the important difference is that in Bond we are striving for gameplay with constant forward motion – both in combat and in stealth.

According to him, in Hitman the player was often offered to wait and study the situation. In Bond, you can also observe, but "obviously there are options that can be used immediately."

We want to reduce the decision-making time in order to keep moving forward and be a little faster.

Unlike the measured pace of Hitman, the 007 franchise is associated with chases and explosions. It seems the studio is trying to take this difference into account.
