The beta version of the updated Unity AI engine will be presented in March.

Unity Technologies continues to actively promote generative artificial intelligence in game development. Despite the ongoing debate surrounding the use of AI in the industry, the company has made it clear: developers who want to use such tools will have all the necessary capabilities to do so.

During the fourth-quarter financial report, Unity's management called "AI-Driven Authoring" one of the key areas of development. According to CEO Matt Bromberg, this will become the company's second most important priority by 2026.

Bromberg stated that a beta version of the updated Unity AI engine will be presented at the Game Developers Conference 2026 in March. The new tool will allow developers to create simple but complete games using text prompts — directly within the Unity platform. It is assumed that this will simplify the transition from prototype to finished product.

According to him, the assistant will use a "unique understanding of the project context and Unity runtime", as well as use advanced AI models. The company is confident that this combination will provide more effective results compared to general-purpose AI solutions.
