Arc Raiders developers deny the theory that AI robots learn from players' actions

The behavior of robots is very surprising at times.

In recent months, a theory has gone viral in the Arc Raiders community that the developers have given the AI the ability to analyze players' actions and improve their tactics. As "proof," supporters of the theory cited recordings of suspiciously strange battles: it seemed that the robots understood the actions of people and adapted.

However, recently Embark Studios' design director, Virgil Watkins, spoke with PC Gamer and refuted the Arc Raiders fan theory.

He explained that these examples of "smart" robot behavior are the result of the painstaking work of designers and AI engineers: "It's just us making them that way."

Virgil clarified that the Arc Raiders team uses AI only in the original, "video game" sense, and not in any way related to language models (LLM).
