Bethesda games have a wide variety of modifications released for them. Some mods have been successfully monetized through the Creations system.

Recently Mortismal Gaming spoke with Todd Howard. During the interview, they touched on the topic of paid mods and their support.

The developer explained that as far as he knows, everything is generally going "pretty well."

Usually [mod support] is the responsibility of their creators — they handle it themselves. But we help them in every way we can. Sometimes they come to us like, "Hey, we need help here to understand how this works."

Bethesda generally "really likes" how things are with paid mods now, but not everything is perfect.

There are certain difficulties with the distribution of such modifications: not everyone is in a hurry to get acquainted with the content and buy something. Bethesda plans to simplify the process of obtaining and launching Creations mods:

The creators [of modifications] are great guys, and we see how everyone reacts [to the Creation Club] in the spirit of "hey, there's cool content here, go to the menu and check it out." So we are very happy with the [Creations] program — how it works for free mods, for paid mods, and for our own content. I think our main problem now is to bring this content [Creations mods] to more people, because we think it's great. There are still some difficulties — we need to make the process of getting and launching all this easier for our audience.
