Collectors have amassed over 40,000 games on Steam, but have barely played them - statistics

Some individuals invest hundreds of thousands of dollars in Steam libraries, but after purchase, the games often "gather dust."

Recently, Steam users once again drew attention to major game collectors on Valve's service. Sonix has long collected over 43,000 games, and now two more enthusiasts have emerged who have accumulated over 40,000 projects in their libraries.

Second place is held by Ian Brandon Anderson, who has 41,000 games, and Axtor closes the top three with 40.5 thousand games. In fourth place on the list of collectors is ikun with 39 thousand games, and fifth place is taken by 4inarik with 36 thousand games. They have collected all sorts of projects, including long-removed ones, such as games from the "Saw" franchise, but often they don't even launch them.

According to profile data, Sonix is from Shanghai, China. The SteamDB calculator estimates the current value of his games at 2,580,470 yuan. However, some games may have been purchased by him at a discount, so the "range" of investment value in the account varies from 11 to 28 million rubles.

The statistics of Steam's main collector are partially private, but some things can still be found out. Sonix has the free game Alien Swarm set as his "favorite game" on his profile showcase — he spent 551 hours in the cooperative action game and unlocked all 66 achievements.

His hobby colleagues are more open; for example, Ian Brandon Anderson's top played games by time are: Satisfactory — 318 hours and Fallout: New Vegas — 242 hours. He also spent almost 100 hours in POSTAL 2, Hitman: Blood Money, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition (2009).

Axtor spent almost 3 thousand hours in the first Path of Exile, 1.9 thousand hours in Legends of Idleon MMO, and over 1600 hours in EVE Online. In Grim Dawn, he played 383 hours, Borderlands 2 — 358 hours, Terraria — 338 hours.
