14-year-old Minecraft fan walked to the Far Lands - Mojang released a documentary about him
Initially, the player naively believed that the entire journey would take a maximum of a few months.
Last year, the Minecraft community was captivated by the story of a player who, over many years, diligently pursued his goal. KurtJMac aimed to reach the so-called "Far Lands".
It took KurtJMac 14 years to travel to the furthest part of the blocky world. He played Minecraft Beta 1.7.3 in Survival mode and posted recordings of his adventures online. His achievement was even recognized by the Guinness World Records – he was listed as the person who made the longest journey in Minecraft.
Recently, Mojang Studios reminded players of this story again. The developers published a short documentary dedicated to KurtJMac's epic journey on the official Minecraft YouTube channel.
For example, they recalled the origins – how his journey began in 2011. In those years, KurtJMac recounts, the developer essentially stated that in the normal game mode, a gamer would never be able to see the "Far Lands." He became curious and set off on his journey: initially, he expected it would only take a few months, but it ended up taking 14 years.
