Terraria developers spoiled new mechanics - the next update will be "not just a change of numbers"
The developers continue to experiment with gameplay in update 1.4.5.7.
The creators of the survival sandbox game Terraria presented a full May development diary. Work on update 1.4.5.7 continues, and Re-Logic studio clarified that it will not be limited to a simple adjustment of numbers (parameters).
The developers explained that balancing the game sometimes means rethinking some basic aspects of how things work or developing existing elements in new ways. The "spoilers" for the update published in the diary, according to the developers, illustrate this well. These shots also show the scale of changes related to balancing goals — it's not just "adjusting a couple of numbers."
The first video showed a flameburst sentry. At first, everything happens as usual — the sentry fires at the target, but then something unexpected happens — the character picks up the sentry and carries it away. These shots do not yet make it clear whether the character put it on their back or if their hands are occupied and at that moment they lose the ability to use other weapons.

The second video, apparently, teases the mechanic of random ammunition selection with each shot — it was captioned "Sometimes it's hard to choose which ammo to use... so why not leave it to chance?"

The release date for Terraria update 1.4.5.7 has not yet been announced.
