New insider information explains why Hulk and Punisher were needed in the film.

New details have emerged online regarding the plot of the film "Spider-Man: A New Day," which will continue the story of Peter Parker, played by Tom Holland, four years after the events of "No Way Home."

According to insider MyTimeToShineHello, in the new film, the hero will transform for the first time on screen from Spider-Man into Man-Spider – a monstrous spider-like creature that has lost its human mind. A similar plot was previously used in the comic book arc "The Six Arms Saga" and in the "Neogenic Nightmare" storyline from the second season of the 1994 "Spider-Man" animated series.

Rumors about this story direction emerged after the official film materials were published. It was then revealed that Peter Parker would face "a terrifying physical evolution that threatens his very existence."

It is assumed that in an attempt to stop the mutation, Parker will seek help from Bruce Banner, played by Mark Ruffalo. When the hero completely loses control, the Punisher will hunt him down – this storyline was also used in the animated series, but there Peter sought help from Curt Connors.

This information has not yet received official confirmation, so it should be treated with caution. Nevertheless, new details may be revealed in the next trailer. According to insiders, Sony plans to release it on June 17.

The world premiere of "Spider-Man: A New Day" will take place on July 31, 2026.
