Reliable Insider Debunks "Leak" of GTA VI Price
Only a few days remain until the official announcement of Grand Theft Auto VI prices.
Recently, players noticed several mysterious listings on a European retailer's website. The release date was indicated as November 19, leading many to immediately think of the upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI, as pre-orders for the game are expected to open soon.
Prices ranged from 90 to 200 euros, which caused gamers concern about a "new norm" that Rockstar Games / Take Two might set with such a pricing policy.
The online discussions caught the attention of well-known insider billbil_kun, who interrupted his vacation to comment on social media. He explained that the SKUs seen by players were actually just placeholders, and the prices were set randomly:
It seems many (including [Rockstar Games]) are trying to spoil my vacation. These SKUs are just placeholders because the EAN codes (analogous to UPC product codes in the USA) do not belong to standard Take-Two game prefixes. So the prices there are random.
billbil_kun apologized to his readers: he currently does not have access to a computer and cannot help determine the real price of GTA VI.
Pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI are expected to start on June 25.
