Ayaneo Pocket Micro 2 Portable Console to Feature Two Recessed TMR Sticks

It turns out that the Ayaneo Pocket Micro 2 portable console will feature two TMR sticks. They are recessed into the device's body, so it's not certain they will snag on pockets.

Ayaneo continues to tease players with images of the Pocket Micro 2 portable console, with a full announcement expected on June 26, 2026.

In the new image, the team showcased the side of the device, indicating that the design largely remains close to the original Pocket Micro. For many gamers, the Pocket Micro Classic was a much more successful portable device – largely due to the absence of tall dual sticks.

It all came down to the fact that most mobile players didn't use them: they were inconvenient, snagged on pockets, and due to the small screen, they weren't needed for emulating older, less demanding systems, which is why users bought the console in the first place.

Some players were surprised that the Pocket Micro 2 would have two recessed TMR sticks. If you look closely, you can also notice new shoulder buttons (triggers) that wrap around the device's corners.

This makes them slightly more comfortable and moves away from the Game Boy Micro design, which the console clearly tried to subtly copy. Perhaps Ayaneo will release a classic version of the Pocket Micro 2 in the future for those who don't need sticks.
