Ayaneo Teases Pocket Micro 2 Handheld Console - "New Icon of Retrogaming"

Fans of retrogaming and beyond should prepare for the full announcement of the Ayaneo Pocket Micro 2 console, which will likely feature a more powerful processor than its predecessor.

Today, Ayaneo, which in May showcased the KONKR Pocket Block — a pocket vertical Android-based console — unexpectedly teased another new product.

It announced the Pocket Micro 2, calling it a "new icon of retrogaming" and a "powerful second-generation device" (the "Gen 2" phrasing in the image could refer to either the device's generation or the chip used).

No additional details were provided, but it is likely that an official stream dedicated to this handheld console can be expected soon.

The original Ayaneo Pocket Micro was released in September 2024, after being initially announced alongside the Pocket DMG as part of the Remake series. It featured 6–8 GB of RAM, 128–256 GB of internal storage, a 3.5-inch IPS display (960×640, 330 PPI, 400 nits), a 2600 mAh battery, Android 13 OS, and a MediaTek Helio G99 chip.

Additionally, in 2025, the Pocket Micro Classic was released, which lacked analog sticks, featuring only a basic set of buttons, triggers, and a D-pad.

If the Ayaneo Pocket Micro 2 is indeed a "powerful second-generation device," it will likely feature a different processor. How such a handheld console will fare with RAM and internal storage is difficult to predict at this time due to the current pricing situation.
