The genius regularly shares his opinions on films.

Legendary game designer and all-around genius Hideo Kojima once again shared his love for cinema. During a speech at a film festival, the developer admitted that he has always imagined a very unusual place for his death — a movie theater.

According to the developer, he has long envisioned the ideal moment of his passing right before the big screen.

I always thought that when I die, I would like to die in a movie theater. What I like most is the moment before the film starts. You enter the hall, the lights go out, commercials and trailers play, and just before the film begins, that's when I would like to pass away.

Kojima's love for cinema has long been known to fans. The developer regularly posts his impressions of watched films on social media, and last year even voiced a mole in the Japanese version of the animated film "Zootopia 2".

Currently, an adaptation of Metal Gear Solid is in development, directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein, but Kojima himself is not involved in this project. Instead, he serves as a consultant for the feature film based on Death Stranding, which is being created by A24 studio. According to the developer, he deliberately does not interfere too actively in the process so as not to limit the creative freedom of the team.

In addition, Kojima continues to work on the horror game OD, which is being created in collaboration with director Jordan Peele.
