DC Studios' "Booster Gold" series loses showrunner: David Jenkins exits project
Screenwriter David Jenkins announced his departure from the "Booster Gold" series, which was supposed to tell the story of Michael Carter — a future American football player who steals museum technology and travels back in time for fame and fortune:
"My version of 'Booster Gold' will not be moving forward. Mahershala said it best, so I'll just apply his words to this situation."
These words accompanied a repost of Mahershala Ali's statement, who announced that he no longer intends to play Blade in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as the film has not gone into production since its announcement in 2019.
The project was part of the initial lineup for the updated DC cinematic universe, presented by James Gunn and Peter Safran back in 2023. Jenkins was supposed to write the pilot episode and serve as showrunner if a full season was ordered.
DC Studios has not yet commented on the screenwriter's statement. Therefore, it is unknown whether the company has completely abandoned the series or will reboot the project with a different creative team in the future.
