Sony, apparently, has figured out how to help players come to terms with PlayStation's digital future - cashback

The PS Store will give players money, which can then be spent in the PS Store.

Sony appears to have started testing a new refund system for digital purchases in the PS Store. Some PS5 owners have been given the opportunity to receive a portion of the money spent back into their PlayStation wallet — though it is not yet known how widespread this experiment will become.

One Reddit user noticed a special Wallet Credit mark on certain games. According to PlayStation Lifestyle and Push Square, the system is not yet working for all users and, based on available reports, is only available in the US.

One of the games participating in the testing was The Blood of Dawnwalker. The user reported that after purchasing, they received $10 back into their PS Store wallet.

In addition to The Blood of Dawnwalker, user reports indicate Wallet Credit support for several other games: Halloween, Star Wars Zero Company, Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2, and Hot Wheels: Infinite Rush.

An additional hint at the preparation of such a system was the appearance of an application called Wallet Credit in the American PS Store. It is currently unavailable for download, but its very presence may indicate that Sony is indeed experimenting with a separate mechanism for managing such bonuses.
