20 Minutes of Professor Layton and The New World of Steam Gameplay Revealed: New Puzzles and a Steampunk City

At Tokyo Game Show 2026, a 20-minute gameplay demo was shown featuring the city of Steam Bison, puzzles, and a coin-based hint system.

Professor Layton and The New World of Steam received a new demonstration at Tokyo Game Show 2026.

The new video showcases a part of the story in the city of Steam Bison, which operates thanks to steam technologies. Layton and Luke head to the Eggmuffin factory, where new puzzles and a mysterious story await them. Among the challenges are finding the right door among many options and helping the factory owner repair a machine.

LEVEL-5 also introduced a new hint system. Players will be able to collect special coins and spend them on additional hints so that difficult puzzles do not stop their progress.

Professor Layton and The New World of Steam will be released on December 10, 2026, on PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The price has not yet been announced, and an Xbox release has not been confirmed.
