Helldivers 2 Players Criticize Developers for Mismanaging Galactic War — Their Decisions Are "Killing Morale"
What's happening on the battlefields doesn't suit everyone.
Recently, Helldivers 2 made its way to Xbox consoles. The community was prepared for this — they were teased with the arrival of reinforcements and a large-scale event with an attack by factions was prepared.
However, not everyone is happy with how the Galactic War is unfolding in Helldivers 2 right now. BluestOfTheRaccoons said:
«We just got new weapons and armor from the battle pass. Over the past few days, the number of players has literally increased fivefold.
AND YET... AND YET WE LOST ALL THE PLANETS THAT WERE ATTACKED. And we're still losing while we discuss this. How is it that reinforcements and a 600% increase in hell divers don't help our war effort at all? In fact, we suffered an even heavier defeat».
According to the dissatisfied, what is happening now destroys the game lore and looks stupid from the point of view of game design, and also "kills morale":
«Scaling the % of liberation depending on the number of players makes sense up to a certain point, but if you tell me that 8,000 hell divers and 120,000 will give the same result, then what's the point? In fact, it was easier to liberate planets when fewer people were playing. Is this true from a game design point of view? From a lore point of view? From a moral point of view?
When numbers lose their meaning and efforts are not taken into account, hope dies — only futility remains [what is happening ceases to make sense]».
Discussion participants believe that developers need to revise mission modifiers to better take into account the progress of players during the Galactic War.
