New rumors have surfaced about the upcoming remake of Halo Combat Evolved, and, according to reports, Halo Studios is seriously reworking the classic shooter, making it more dynamic.
According to Rebs Gaming, the project, titled Halo CER, will feature a sprint mechanic — a decision that will radically change the perception of the campaign and multiplayer.
Sources familiar with the development process claim that the current test version of the game already has a running function. Details of the implementation have not yet been disclosed, but the question remains: how will the new animations affect aiming with weapons like the M6D Magnum pistol or the sniper rifle?
It was previously reported that the Halo CE remake may be single-player only and lack multiplayer. In this case, there would be no need for PvP balance. There is also a possibility of the game being released on PlayStation 5 — this coincides with Microsoft's new policy of abandoning strict exclusivity.
Another important point is the technology. The remake is built on a hybrid engine, where Unreal Engine 5 works on top of the Blam Engine, which was used in the original Halo games. A similar scheme was already used in the Oblivion remaster, which also added a sprint that was absent in the classic version.
