Second Star Games is named after the direction to Neverland.
Tom Stone, formerly the Managing Director of TT Games, known for developing Lego games, has founded a new studio called Second Star Games. The studio is working on a project based on the story of Peter Pan, with the aim of supporting the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children.
Stone began his career at Lego Interactive, but after the company exited the gaming industry, he and Jonathan Smith created the publisher Giant Interactive, which held an exclusive license for Lego games. Following the success of Lego Star Wars, Traveller’s Tales acquired Giant Interactive, forming TT Games, where Stone became Managing Director. He worked on Lego games for nearly 18 years, leaving the company in 2020 to head FuturLab, the developers of Powerwash Simulator. In 2024, Stone left FuturLab and, together with The Blair Partnership and Great Ormond Street Hospital, founded Second Star Games.
The new studio, named after the direction to Neverland — "second star to the right and straight on till morning" — has brought together former colleagues of Stone from TT Games, including lead game designer Andrew Holt, art director Nicola Daly, and head of engineering Chris Stanford. The Peter Pan project is partly aimed at raising funds for the hospital, which, according to the 1988 act, continues to receive royalties from the commercial use of Peter Pan's image in the UK, despite the expiration of copyright.
