Producer Beom-jun Lee and Director Min-seok Doo talked about future crossovers and the approach to creating sexy characters.
Following the announcement of the crossover with Bayonetta, which will be released on November 6, 2025, Nexon developers announced that they are working on several other collaborations with popular franchises. These projects will feature new cosmetic items and content, all of which will be consistent with the aesthetics and gameplay of The First Descendant.
In an interview, they talked about the criteria for choosing collaborations. In addition to popularity, the franchise must share a "strong sense of speed and dynamics" inherent in The First Descendant. These requirements are met in crossovers with NieR: Automata and Bayonetta, and the developers themselves are fans of these franchises.
They also explained how the signature sexy costumes are created.
"For example, the popular Bunny Descendant. The original concept was simply \"someone who can run fast.\". From this, we thought: \"This creates the image of a rabbit.\". When the concept reaches the designers, they refine it in detail. For example: \"Don't show your face, but leave a revealing costume.\". Each element is carefully worked out.”
According to the team, "sexuality" is seen as an art form and is applied to all aspects of work on The First Descendant.
The First Descendant is available for free on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
